Class of 2026 four-star Jordan Skyers updates recruitment

NEW YORK — Jordan Skyers, a four-star in the class of 2026, has improved drastically since his transition to Overtime Elite’s Our Savior Lutheran, otherwise known as JellyFam Elite.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard posted 13 points and 4 rebounds in a tightly contested loss to YNG Dreamerz, followed up by 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists on the second day of Jelly Fam’s showcase in downtown Brooklyn.
Skyers, who has been heralded for his defensive ability in the past, has continued to step up his offensive production at OTE, posting 14.8 points on 49.1-percent shooting, adding 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists to boot.
“Coming into the season, we knew the key players,” he said postgame. “When it comes down to me, I can score quick buckets, then everybody keeps feeding me, and that keeps us going.”
Skyers credits his recent development, and transition to OTE, to the coaching staff, specifically coach Peter Wehye.
“It all starts with coach Pete,” he said. “Being around him, and talking to him, having that type of energy makes you want to get better. He’s the type of person who makes you better. There’s no stopping, no quitting around him, and that’s why I like OTE.”
In terms of recruitment, the young guard took a fall official visit to Rhode Island. Mississippi State has been involved for a little over two months, as well. Skyers broke down the two options to ZAGSBLOG:
Rhode Island: “That felt really unreal. We had some steaks, did a photoshoot, everything was great. I go to really understand and know Coach Archie [Miller] a lot more. Coming into that visit, I thought coach Archie was just a cool guy, but he’s very genuine and he’s going to push you. No matter what, he wants to make me better.”
Mississippi State: “I’m building a great relationship with them. Their message to me is to keep working, keep getting better. They want to add on a lot more pieces to my game. Everybody knows I play defense, and that’s the No. 1 thing they’re big at at Mississippi State, they love defensive guards. They know I can play defense, but they want to see what more I can do.”
Skyers doesn’t have a current commitment timeline in mind, and will play the OTE season out before narrowing things down.
