Rain returns, very mild weekend
A series of Pacific disturbances will march east across the country through early next week, bringing rounds of rain to the Ohio Valley.
A lull in the rain will end this afternoon, as clouds thicken ahead of a storm moving northward from the southern Plains to the Upper Midwest. Periods of rain later this afternoon will taper to a few showers Saturday morning, with some dry hours in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach 60 degrees, more than 20 degrees above normal.
Another round of wet weather will arrive on Sunday with a second wave of low pressure.
Some sunshine will return briefly on Monday between systems, with a slight cool-down. A frontal system crossing the country will bring rain on Tuesday, this time sweeping a cold front through the region that will the weather seasonably cold after the New Year.
