Is Yasin Özcan on his way to Aston Villa?

Reports in Turkey are suggesting that Aston Villa and Kasımpaşa have agreed a £6.7 million deal for the signing of defender Yasin Özcan.

The 18-year-old defender will travel to Birmingham in the first week of January to do his medical and finalise terms according to İHA Spor.

Özcan has played in all 18 games for Kasımpaşa this season with the side currently sitting mid-table in the Turkish Süper Lig.

There is very little information about Özcan but according to whoscored.com, the defender’s strengths lie in blocking, interceptions and holding on to the ball with concentration a weakness. He can play as a centre-back or left-back.

With the transfer window open on January 1st, I am sure this won’t be the last transfer rumour we hear from and at this stage, it is unclear how reliable this link is.
