Russell began his career as a Laker, playing in Los Angeles for two seasons before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He returned to the purple and gold during the 2022-23 season and helped the Lakers reach the Western Conference Finals that season.
This year, Russell was averaging 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
Dorrian Finney-Smith was averaging 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the Brooklyn Nets and will be taking his talents to Los Angeles. He is considered a 3-and-D player, which is exactly the kind of skillset the Lakers have been searching for.
Shake Milton is the other Net who is part of this move. He will provide the Lakers with another scoring guard who is currently converting on 38% of his 3-point attempts.
This is a developing story, more updates will follow.
