Rohit Sharma registered unwanted historic record after getting dismissed in MCG Test

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has failed once again to perform with the bat, as he got dismissed for just 9 runs on Day 5 of the 4th Test against Australia in Melbourne. It has turned out to be a terrible outing for Rohit in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. He has registered an unwanted record after he got dismissed by Pat Cummins.

This has turned out to be the sixth time that he has been dismissed by Cummins in Test cricket- that is the most times where a captain has dismissed the opposition captain in the longest format of the game. The Indian captain has been facing a lot of criticism from both fans and experts, and his flop show on Day 4 of MCG Test has not helped this case in any sort whatsoever.

Rohit tried to play with a good mixture of patience and stroke play during India’s second innings in Melbourne, but got dismissed because of a clean catch by Mitchell Marsh at gully. A fuller delivery got him leading the edge, where the ball quickly went towards March who showed quick reflexes and caught a sharp catch.

Australia has set a target of 340 runs for India after they managed to score 234 runs in their second innings.
Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the Indian bowling lineup for the second innings of Australia, as he made a five-wicket haul (5/57). Mohammed Siraj (3/70) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/33) were the bowlers who took rest of the wickets.
