12/30/2024: Record warmth to kick off the day!
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
With a temperature of 58 degrees this morning, we set a new record high for the day! Even though it's early in the day, don't expect us to get much warmer...
The last of the overnight rain will be swept out of the region by late morning by a passing cold front, and temperatures will slowly but steadily drop through the day. Expect to be down into the mid 40's by sunset.
Overnight, temperatures fall to the low 30's. Still above average, but a step closer to where we should be this time of year. Tuesday looks quiet for all your New Years Eve preparations, with highs in the mid 40's.
As the clock strikes midnight, though, our next storm system will be rolling in. Most will see rain into New Year's Day, but the high terrain will likely see periods of wintry mix and snow. Be careful leaving those NYE parties!
Cooler with blustery conditions and scattered snow showers for Thursday and Friday. Expect morning lows in the 20's and afternoon highs in the 30's.
Saturday and Sunday are especially cold, with morning lows in the teens and afternoon highs only in the 20's. Only light flurries are expected - but the breeze will make it feel frigid! Bundle up!
