Anthony Edwards can’t stop swearing, and it’s cost him $200K
Anthony Edwards’ profanity is becoming a costly habit.
Anthony Edwards is one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, but his achilles heel is quickly becoming ... an inability to stop swearing. Edward was fined a whopping $100,000 on Sunday for using profanity in his post-game interview after beating the Rockets.
It goes without saying that this video contains swearing.

“I gotta go get it, s***. Nickeil found me, he cut me off and I’m like s*** I’m going for the win. Like Gilbert Arenas said: “I don’t do overtime, so f*** it.”
Quoting Gilbert Arenas is certainly a choice, and the NBA didn’t find any of this funny by hitting Ant with a six-figure fine, saying that the hefty fine was in part due to “Edwards’ history of using profane language during media interviews.”
That history is pretty well documented. While it wasn’t swearing, on November 17th he was fined $35K for giving the finger to Kings fans.

On December 9 he was fined $25K for using profanity in the locker room.

“I just gotta f***ing play better!”
Then on December 23 he was fined $75K for criticizing officials and swearing in a post-game interview after a loss to the Warriors.

“F***ing terrible, all of them, besides the woman. [...] This s*** was terrible. They wanna talk back to my coach, they wanna talk back to me. I say one thing to the refs and he gave me a tech. Mother****** told one of my teammates if I said “Y’all calling a bad foul” he wouldn’t have given me a tech.”
If you’re keeping score at home that’s a total of $235,000 in fines in just over a month for three occasions and swearing and one obscene gesture. It’s a rough tightrope to balance for the Wolves’ young star. On the one hand his emotion is part of what makes him such a brilliant player, but dude’s got to learn not to let it boil over.
