Drier, cooler in Portland metro as 2024 winds down
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As we wrap up 2024, we will see more dry time on both Monday and Tuesday around the Portland metro area with just a few showery moments mixed in.
A few rain showers may linger throughout Monday afternoon before the evening turns drier. Then it's the opposite for Tuesday -- a mainly dry day with scattered showers expected in the evening for our New Year's Eve.
Daytime highs look to drop into the upper-40s throughout the Willamette Valley to start our new week. So that will be a change for us!
We've seen above normal temperatures recently in the Portland area. Over the past 10 days, every single day (besides Christmas) was above normal and reached the 50s or even 60 degrees.
But that is about to change. Tuesday and Wednesday daytime highs in the metro area are expected to only reach the mid- to upper-40s. Cooler mornings are also on the way. Tuesday and Wednesday, the forecast calls for our overnight lows to drop into the upper-30s.
So, make sure to grab those layers as you head out the door!
Plus, Tuesday morning both the Oregon Coast and the valley could see some patchy fog.
