Mayor reminds Whitehall residents of water conservation

0

WHITEHALL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Officials are reminding Whitehall residents to continue conserving water as the state of emergency has yet to be lifted. In a release circulated by Washington County's Department of Public Safety, Mayor Francis Putorti said they continue monitoring the lake levels of the village's drinking water source.

The state of emergency has been in effect for three weeks. The lake's water level is still below the necessary level for unrestricted water use.

Residents should continue limiting their water use for bathing purposes and ensure dishwashers and washing machines are full loads. Additionally, residents with pipes prone to freezing should winterize or insulate them since continuous water running is not allowed.

The village plans to provide updates as more information becomes available. Residents can also find more information about the state of emergency on the village's website.
