ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy New Year's Eve! Meteorologist Kevin Appleby says we will have some sunshine during the day with clouds and rain moving in later in the day and temperatures in the 40s.

Governor Kathy Hochul was in Marcy on Monday, demanding answers after the death of Robert Brooks last week.
2. CDTA offering free New Year’s Eve rides
The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is offering free rides on New Year’s Eve as a part of the STOP DWI efforts. The free rides will run from 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
3. 5 people charged in death of former One Direction star Liam Payne
An Argentine judge confirmed charges against five people in connection with the death of Liam Payne, a former member of musical group One Direction, and ordered preventive prison for two of them for having supplied him with drugs.
4. New Albany County District Attorney sworn-in
Albany County has a new district attorney, for the first time in two decades. NEWS10 was at Lee Kindlon’s swearing in ceremony where he shared his message for the public.
5. Half a million gallons of water leaking from Hudson’s tank
Water in the City of Hudson comes through its plant and is then stored in a tank. It was on Thursday, the first night of Kwanzaa however, that Mayor Kamal Johnson reported water was being lost from that tank at an alarming rate.
