The Union Home Ministry reports tough security operations and development initiatives have reduced Naxal violence by 48 percent from 2013 to 2023. Efforts by Naxals to expand into new areas along inter-state borders have been unsuccessful. Deaths of civilians and security forces have decreased by 65 percent over the same period.
