Law firm offers ride vouchers for New Year's Eve
CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Harding Mazzotti LLP is offering Uber vouchers on New Year’s Eve to help deter impaired driving. The vouchers are being offered in the Albany, Binghamton, Plattsburgh, Syracuse, and Utica areas.
"I want people thinking, before they go out tonight, to already have this idea that they're going to have someone else -- a professional, in the case of Uber, or you could have a parent or a friend who doesn't drink -- someone else driving you home," said Paul Harding, Managing Partner at the law firm.
The $20 Uber vouchers will be valid from 10 p.m. on December 31 to 2 a.m. on January 1. The free vouchers are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. One per person. You can get an Uber voucher on Harding Mazzotti’s website on December 31.
According to Harding, the vouchers will go live at noon.
Last year, more than 100,000 tickets were issued by law enforcement across New York State over the Christmas-New Year’s holiday, including more than 500 for DWI.
