Person pushed onto subway tracks in NYC: police

CHELSEA, Manhattan (PIX11) – A person was pushed onto subway tracks in New York City Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened at the 18th Street station in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood around 1:40 p.m., according to the NYPD.

A person pushed a male victim onto the southbound tracks, police said. The victim was hospitalized with a head injury, according to authorities.

The suspect was wearing a blue and black jacket, police said. No arrest has been made.

Additional information about the incident wasn't immediately available.

Southbound No. 1 trains are currently running express from Times Square-42nd Street to Chambers Street, according to the MTA.

Delays on the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 trains are also expected, MTA officials said.
