Costco Just Introduced 4 Brand New Bakery Items & the Internet Has Strong Opinions About the New Additions

Costco apparently made a major flub with its latest release of bakery items because shoppers had some strong opinions on them. Savvy shoppers spotted four new items in the wholesalers bakery section — usually known for its delicious treats like its legendary pumpkin pies and its crumbly cinnamon coffee cake — but the reviews so far have not been great.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. First: the treats in question. @whats_in_your_cart and @costcodeals shared a joint video of their find on Instagram, including four unique oversized muffin flavors. These include Triple Chocolate, Lemon Raspberry, Blueberries + Cream, and Butter Pecan. All of which come in an 8-pack of massive muffins for just $6.99, which is much cheaper than your daily coffee run. Despite how tasty these look on screen, though, people who’ve tried them said they aren’t as good in real life.
“Sadly they’re not as good,” one person commented on the video, explaining in another comment, “very dense and dry. Not the same cake style muffins as before.”
Someone else shared, “So dry. And not a ton of flavor. It was a major disappointment.” Another wrote, “They’re sooooo bad!! Costco super fan here, and they are SO bad it’s shocking they somehow made it to this point.”
“Not even worth the calories,” another disappointed shopper wrote.
Some people disagreed, with one person saying, “Where I am, they are not dry; they are tasty, airy, and soft.” Others suggested preferences for the blueberries and cream and lemon raspberry flavors, with most agreeing that the chocolate ones were “so dry.”
