Dry weather to wrap up the week with a winter storm this weekend

Tonight, clouds will gradually increase as a system approaches. A few flurries or snow showers may fall over the northeastern areas toward sunrise. Lows will dip into the middle 20s by early Thursday morning.
We should clear on Thursday afternoon with highs in the lower 40s before the next cold front arrives. Friday's high temperature will struggle to reach the lower 30s.
By the weekend, a winter storm looks to be heading straight for the area. Ultimately, the exact path of the low will dictate just how much of the precipitation will fall as snow vs. ice in our area, but the storm bears watching as it will bring the potential for accumulating snowfall if the path remains favorable. Several projections show a higher impact storm with primarily snowfall for the region with the best chance for significant ice just to the south. Plan accordingly.
