WINTER STORM WATCH is in place from Saturday afternoon into late Sunday night. Be prepare for winter weather and significant travel impacts.

We are waking up mostly cloudy today. Winds will become from the northwest by this afternoon. We will clear out by this afternoon with highs in the lower 40s before the next cold front arrives. Friday's high temperature will struggle to reach the lower 30s.

By the weekend, a winter storm looks to be heading straight for the area. Ultimately, the exact path of the low will dictate just how much of the precipitation will fall as snow vs. ice in our area, but the storm bears watching as it will bring the potential for accumulating snowfall if the path remains favorable. Several projections show a higher impact storm with primarily snowfall for the region with the best chance for significant ice just to the south. Plan accordingly.

Much colder air will move in at the start of next week, bringing single-digit lows with wind chills near 10 degrees below zero. Wind chills are likely to approach advisory criteria. This will push temperatures well below average.
