Middleburgh students to travel for presidential inauguration

MIDDLEBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- 50 Middleburgh students will embark on a field trip to witness the presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. The students will leave on January 19 and come back on January 22.

Along with witnessing the inauguration, the juniors and seniors will visit Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, the Holocaust Museum, the National Mall, and more. This will be a first-time visit to the nation's capital for many of the students.

"This is a continuation of our district’s vision of providing experiences ‘beyond Middleburgh,’ said Superintendent Mark Place. “They’ll see democracy in action, observing the peaceful transition of power firsthand. I’m confident this unique opportunity will broaden their perspectives, inspire civic engagement, and create memories they’ll carry with them into the future."
