NYSP appoints first female commander of Troop A

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York State Police has appointed its first female commander for Troop A.
Major Amie P. Feroleto began her career with NYSP in 2002 and has worked with multiple troops over the course of her career. One of those included Troop E, which oversees Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne counties.
Troop A oversees areas such as Buffalo, Genesee County, and Orleans County. In this new role, Major Feroleto will oversee NYSP patrol and investigative operations across Western New York and manage over 400 personnel.
Before this, she served roles as a uniform trooper, sergeant, station commander, lieutenant, and captain. She even served in the Professional Standards Bureau. She was appointed to Troop A Commander on Thursday.
