'How can X take away my blue check?' Pro-MAGA influencer fact-checked over rant

Far-right pro-Trump influencer and failed Florida congressional candidate Laura Loomer is continuing her weekslong feud with tech billionaire Elon Musk, accusing him of twisting his own platform's rules to censor and punish her — but in her haste to try to gather evidence, she earned a swift fact-check from a reporter she claimed did the same as her.

Loomer, a self-described "proud Islamophobe" who has spoken favorably about white nationalism, has repeatedly attacked Musk over his support of the H1-B visa program, accusing him of infiltrating the MAGA movement and corrupting Trump's inner circle with his money. As she did this, the platform revoked her premium features and demonetized her account.

The site apparently did this because Loomer published the address of a campaign donor from a Federal Election Commission form, violating X rules prohibiting the sharing of people's physical locations — something that was cracked down on hard two years ago after a user tracked Musk's private jet. But Loomer insists tons of other accounts have done what she did without punishment.

"How can X take away my blue check and my monetization when other accounts with blue checks have posted full FEC records and revealed full addresses and they still remain on the platform? This doesn’t make any sense. I have the screenshots to prove it too," complained Loomer.

She listed a number of examples, one of her most prominent being Daily Beast reporter Roger Sollenberger posting FEC documents about the former campaign treasurer of disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-NY).

"Here’s another example of a journalist posting an unblurred FEC record," wrote Loomer. "How come this reporter was not penalized and made to delete their posts like I was? It seems like rules are not being applied fairly. @elonmusk I have inquired for a reply and explanation."

But Loomer's comparison wasn't accurate, Sollenberger swiftly replied.

"This — which I posted a year ago — is not a private donor’s address, but a public letter to the FEC from Santos’ ex-treasurer, listing the address she uses for her publicly registered company, Campaigns Unlimited," wrote Sollenberger.
