Warmer today, another severe threat late Sunday

Not as cold this Friday morning but still chilly with temperatures in the mid 50s across Acadiana. Conditions turn partly cloudy and comfortably warmer during the afternoon with highs near 68°. Clouds quickly return tonight with lows in the lower 50s. Cloudier and chillier weather is in the forecast for Saturday followed by a very warm and windy Sunday.

Acadiana will be under another risk for severe weather late on Sunday. This could be very similar to what the area saw last Saturday. A line of strong to severe storms is likely after 4:00 pm Sunday and will move through during the evening hours. Futuretrack shows the line reaching Lafayette around 6:00 pm. Damaging winds will be the main threat but tornadoes are possible as well.
