Bruins Sign Forward From Linus Ullmark Trade To Extension

The Bruins signed a key contributor to a contract extension Friday.

General manager Don Sweeney announced in a press release that Boston signed Mark Kastelic to a three-year contract extension through the 2027-28 season with an annual cap hit of $1.567 million.

The Black and Gold acquired Kastelic last offseason in a trade that sent Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators; they also acquired goaltender Joonas Korpisalo and a 2024 first-round draft pick (used to take forward Dean Letourneau) in the deal.

Kastelic was one of Boston’s top contributors in the first half of the season. The fourth-year forward scored four goals and tallied seven assists in 11 games. The 25-year-old also is a physical presence for the B’s on the fourth line. He leads the team with 151 hits and isn’t afraid to drop the gloves against anyone.

The Bruins signed Kastelic a day before their matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Puck drop for Saturday’s matchup at Scotiabank Arena is scheduled at 7 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN after an hour of pregame.
