Far-right Republican falls down Capitol steps after speaker vote: report

ABC News is reporting that MAGA loyalist Rep. Virginia Foxx appeared to fall down the stairs at the U.S. Capitol on Friday after the vote for House speaker.

According to reporter John R. Parkinson, Foxx was holding her nose while bleeding and "receiving medical attention."

He said that she "appears to have fallen down marble stairs on [the] West side of House."

The press was cleared from the area, but an officer told them the congresswoman was okay, conscious and talking.

The incident comes after Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) fell down the stairs during an international visit to Luxembourg and Belgium last month commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. She was rushed to a hospital and had a hip replacement.
