Fortnite and Adidas Are Turning In-Game Moments Into Sneakers With Their New Collaboration

Epic Games’ Fortnite may be going all-in with popular Nike and Air Jordan sneaker cosmetics for its “Fortnite Kicks” feature, but the enduring video game series is also working with a competitor brand on a set of real-life footwear.

Previewed here in official product images is a new Fortnite x Adidas Ultra Boost collection which pays homage to various characters and moments from the game. Five different styles are included in the collaboration, which is highlighted by a yellow “Peely” colorway that references the game’s banana skin. This pair features a removable yellow shroud which gives the low-top running sneaker some added boot-like functionality. 

The other pairs in the group, while still ripe with details, are considerably more reserved in their approach. Two “Battle Bus” colorways in blue and black represent the game’s flying transportation while a “Fishstick” pair is inspired by the character of the same name. Lastly, a gold-embellished “Victory Crown” colorway nods to the elusive trophy bestowed upon game winners.

Officially licensed video game sneaker collaborations have been on the rise in recent years. In 2024, Nike released a two-sneaker Tekken 8 x Air Foamposite One collaboration. Meanwhile, Nike’s coveted PlaySation x Air Force 1  sneaker is expected to receive a reissue of some form in 2025.

In November, Fortnite launched its ‘Fortnite Kicks’ feature which allows players to wear popular Nike and Air Jordan shoes in the game. And in July, Adidas sneakers were featured in the game for a limited time. There’s no word if these Ultra Boost styles will appear in the game or not, but it’s a safe bet that they will.

The full Fortnite x Adidas Ultra Boost collection is expected to be released in March, although an exact launch date and pricing has not been confirmed. Readers can find a full look at the collaboration below.
