Chiefs Power Past Spruce Kings

0

The Chilliwack Chiefs power play scored four times in four opportunities in a 5-2 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings on Saturday night in Chilliwack.

The Spruce Kings took the lead just 1:47 into the game as Skogen Schrott went in all alone and deked around Sebastian Gatto to make it 1-0. The goal had to be reviewed to ensure the integrity of the net remained when Gatto’s pad hit it, but it was ruled a good goal.

On the first power play opportunity of the game, Brady Milburn got a backhand pass from Connor Dick and beat Ryder Green on the blocker side to make it 1-1.

Will Moore scored his 10th of the season by stealing a puck in front of the Spruce Kings bench, dangling into the zone and beating Gatto on the blocker side to give Prince George a 2-1 lead into the locker room.

The second period saw no goals until the final minute when Milburn scored his second of the night on the power play by walking right down the middle of the ice and snapping one past Green to tie the game at two.

The third period belonged to Carter Anderson. The Chiefs forward scored his seventh and eighth goal of the season at 5:00 and 7:17, both on the power play to give the Chiefs a 4-2 lead.

His first came on a rebound at the bottom of the right circle, while the second was a howitzer on a one-time shot on the power play.

Anderson added an empty netter as well to wrap up first star honours.
