WWE legend Black Bart moves in to hospice and stops chemotherapy after devastating colon cancer battle

WWE legend Black Bart has moved into a hospice and stopped chemotherapy amid a devastating colon cancer battle.

The wrestler – real name Richard Harris – has been fighting cancer since 2022.

His family has now issued an update on his health on Facebook.

It read: “We decided to let people know Bart is on hospice. He is no longer taking chemo, and his cancer was stage 4 when diagnosed in 2022.”

His wife Linda added: “He’s prayed up and ready to go. He’s ready to meet his maker, so it’s a win-win situation.

“When it’s time to go to heaven, he knows where he’s going.”

It was also revealed that Harris stopped his chemo after his health insurance ran out.

A family statement in December read: “Bart was brought home today, he still isn’t able to walk but he isn’t making progress in the rehab so the insurance will not continue to pay for him.

“He has told me that he doesn’t want any more chemo, he feels that it’s doing more damage than good and I have to back him up on that.

“He doesn’t feel that he has given up he’s just not putting any more poison in his body.

“He is completely in God’s hands now. God’s will be done.”

Harris, 76, started his wrestling career in the mid 1970s and later joined the WWE in 1990 following a career on the independent circuit.

Harris retired in 2002 but continued to wrestle on one-off occasions before becoming a coach – training the likes of John Bradshaw Layfield.
