The vehicle entered the southbound lanes and struck a vehicle driven by Misti Morris of Cheyenne, according to OHP. The collision happened on US-283 north of E. 1040 Road, seven miles south of Cheyenne.

Officials said Morris was pinned for 5 hours and 15 minutes until she was freed by the Berlin Fire Department but she died at the scene.

Cruz was sent to OU Medical in Oklahoma City with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm, and leg injuries. Cruz's passenger Thomas Stampul of Sayre was pronounced dead at the scene by Berlin Fire officials.

The cause is still unknown but officials say the weather was windy and the road had slick spots on it at the time.

Cruz and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts but officials said Morris was not.
