Just when you thought opera gloves were so last year, they’ve already made a comeback. At Sunday night’s 82nd annual Golden Globes, the stars wore several different variations of opera gloves.

Both in Balenciaga looks, Golden Globe nominee Kerry Washington and Ali Wong were first to appear on the Globes red carpet with their long black gala gloves and vibrant pink and red gowns. Abbott Elementary star Janelle James channeled Old Hollywood glam in a velvet, black, strapless Christian Siriano gown accessorized with matching velvet gloves. Pamela Anderson wore them with a black gown. And in a similar look, The Penguin’s Cristin Milioti also wore long black gloves and an embellished black gown.

And while the Globes glove moment mostly featured stars opting for the black glove style, Wicked’s own Ariana Granda stood apart with her choice of classic white gloves, which she paired with an embellished champagne-colored vintage haute couture Givenchy gown.

So are the long-length gloves here to stay? (Again)? And sure, they’re elegant. But is it tired? Did we see enough of it last year for it be original again? Well, we still have an entire award season to decide. But for now, we’ll let these celebs enjoy their gloved-Globes moment.
