KHP shares photos from winter storm

0

KANSAS (KSNT) - The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) is busy helping drivers and clearing crashes across the Sunflower State during a winter storm.

The KHP reports that due to untreated roadways and hazardous conditions, some motorists can be stuck for extended periods of time. The KHP said emergency response may be very difficult and asked everyone to avoid travel.

Trooper Jason Frazier shared this photo of the view of I-135 north of McPherson. "We call it “Frost Patrol.” The roads are completely snow- and ice-covered, making travel dangerous," the KHP wrote on social media.
The KHP shared a photo of a Jan. 5 crash that happened near Salina. The KHP reported that every time they tried moving vehicles they would slide into each other.
Trooper Andrew Mai shared this photo of visibility down to 20-50 feet on U81 Cloud County.
