Crash on I-71 hospitalizes four, closes roadway

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Four people are injured after a crash closed a portion of Interstate 71 Monday afternoon.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, the crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-71 near the 11th Avenue exit at approximately 3:35 p.m.

Four people are hospitalized -- one in critical condition, three in "semi-stable" condition -- as a result of the crash.

There is no word on the cause of the crash.

All the southbound lanes of I-71 were closed at the 17th Avenue exit, but have since reopened, according to ODOT.
