India's GDP growth seen to slow sharply to 6.4% in FY25 from 8.2% last year, first advance estimate shows

Real GDP is estimated to grow by 6.4% in FY 2024-25 compared to 8.2% in FY 2023-24. Official data for the first advance estimates for 2024-25 was released on January 7, informing projections for the Union Budget 2025-26. The economy grew at 5.4% in the second quarter after a 6.7% growth in the first quarter.
