$800,000 Zoustar Colt from Bonaria

0

Widden Stud hit the heights at Magic Millions on Day 1 with a top class colt by Zoustar from Group I winner Bonaria that sold for $800,000.

A full brother to Group II placed Miss Aria, the good looking back was bought by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing/Kestrel Thoroughbreds/Kia Ora.

A close relation of Group I winner Joliestar, he comes from the family of Group I winners Merchant Navy and Paulele, so is a colt with a serious pedigree.

“He was a lyrical sort of horse the way he moved and carried himself and he’s got a lovely pedigree,” said Gai Waterhouse.

“It’s a lovely mix. Robert Anderson bred her at Widden, he’s a great breeder and he’s been doing it a long time, so it’s very nice to get this horse.

“We had a partnership in place and that’s how we were able to secure him.”

Waterhouse believes the colt will be capable of running at two and training on.

“All the good horses are two-year-olds and they go on to be three, four and five-year-olds,” she said.
