Mild, dry stretch of Portland weather lasts through Tuesday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Dry and mild conditions will take the Portland, Vancouver area through the first full week of the new year.
A few more clouds are expected to move into the Pacific Northwest by the afternoon hours. This comes as a weakening front falls apart just offshore on Tuesday evening. The increase in cloud coverage later in the day will keep Portland area temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s.
A few light raindrops are possible tonight for the coastline and across the Portland metro area briefly by Wednesday morning.
Mild and dry conditions y impact Mt. Hood this week. As snow levels boost to 8,000 to 9,000 feet, a little snowmelt is possible. Dry and mild temperatures are expected for skiers and snowboarders over the next several days.
Portland's next round of rain isn't expected until Friday. That's when temperatures will gradually fall closer to average for the middle of January. Then, a drier weekend returns for much of the Pacific Northwest.
