Tweedie Returns From Loan
Hibs Women forward Lia Tweedie has returned to HTC following her loan at Queen’s Park.
Lia has featured for Queen’s Park on nine occasions since joining the ‘The Spiders’ in October 2024. Despite playing in a deeper role whilst on loan, Tweedie netted once in a Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup fixture against Hamilton Academical.
Tweedie started playing for Hibs Girls Academy at the age of just 11. She then was provided with the opportunity at First Team level to make her debut aged 16. Throughout her time at the Club, Lia scored some vital goals to lead the Hibees to victory.
While on loan, Tweedie has continued to train with Grant Scott’s side at HTC.
Grant Scott commented on Lia’s return: “Firstly, I would like to thank everyone at Queen’s Park for providing Lia with valuable game time.
“We are getting back a player that’s had a good run of matches and hungry to succeed. Our squad size is healthy, so the challenge is there for Lia to get back into the matchday squad consistently and then secure a place in the starting eleven. Now having such a competitive squad, everyone knows they need to be at the top of their game weekly - Lia now adds to that competition.”
Tweedie is available for selection in Sunday’s ScottishPower Women’s Premier League clash with Spartans.
