Brief evacuation at Penn Square Mall due to escalator fire

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City firefighters responded to an escalator fire at Penn Square Mall early Tuesday afternoon that resulted in a brief evacuation.

According to OKCFD, initial reports mentioned smoke and fire coming from the second story escalator at Dillard's inside the mall.

Firefighters say no one was injured and the fire was contained within the escalator.
