What areas in Topeka will be cleared of snow first?

TOPEKA (KSNT) – City officials are taking aim at several areas in Topeka Tuesday to remove snow following a large winter storm.

City of Topeka spokesman Dan Garrett announced in a press release on Jan. 7 that local road crews are focusing snow removal efforts in three areas. Workers hope to have these parts of the city cleared by the end of the morning on Jan. 7.

Garrett said workers are targeting zones one, two and three on the city's snow plan map for 2025. The map can be found below:

"Snow clearing is anticipated to take a few more days," Garrett said. "We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to clear the roads efficiently."

Garrett said work crews will make a single pass through residential areas to ensure all the streets in Topeka are taken care of. However, local residents are encouraged to move vehicles off the streets to allow crews and their snowplows to work effectively.
