J.Lo and Ben Affleck Are So Chill About Their Divorce

We’ll always have their quickie Vegas wedding. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially finalized their divorce, according to TMZ. While rumors of their split began last spring, Lopez did not file for divorce until August 20, exactly two years after their big Georgia wedding ceremony. Less than five months later, the two have worked out the terms of their split, and the whole thing seems remarkably amicable.

The pair — who reportedly hired divorce-attorney legend Laura Wasser as a mediator instead of retaining individual counsel — plan to retain whatever they acquired individually during their marriage. Affleck gets to keep his Air paycheck, and Lopez gets to keep whatever she made from selling the This Is Me … Now movie to Amazon. Neither party is going to pay spousal support to the other, which makes sense because in my mind they have the exact same amount of money in their bank accounts.

TMZ also reported that the two have figured out what they’re going to do with that $61 million mansion they bought, but that information is staying private. It’s currently on the market, so for  $68 million you could be the proud owner of 12 bedrooms, 24 (!!) bathrooms, and a piece of Hollywood history.

The former couple’s respectful (and quick, all things considered) parting of ways makes sense if you’ve paid attention to their post-breakup relationship. These two are seeing each other all the time and being chill about it. In December, they met up to exchange gifts, seemingly one-on-one, and then just this past weekend she swung by his house to pick up her kid. Maybe Bennifer 3.0 should be them writing a self-help book about maintaining civility post-divorce.
