Japan links Chinese hacker MirrorFace to dozens of cyber attacks targeting security and tech data

Japan has linked over 200 cyber attacks from 2019 to 2024 targeting national security and high-tech data to the Chinese group MirrorFace, urging stronger cybersecurity measures. The hackers used malware-laden emails and VPN vulnerabilities to steal data from government agencies and tech organisations, including the Japan Aerospace and Exploration Agency.
