Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis has ordered an SIT investigation into allegations of fake birth certificates issued to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Malegaon. The SIT, led by DIG Nasik, will include officers from the district administration and police. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged that around 1,000 people obtained birth certificates by misrepresenting themselves as Bangladeshi Rohingyas.
