We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then, but I think it's human nature to find a bit extra for certain games - pro or am and consciously or not.

Don't think I helped myself by saying 'try' harder. Misleading turn of phrase that, as like Harry says, pro footballers will and should give 100% every time - nonetheless, you get a performance boost for some occasions and I am convinced that with us being top dogs and top spenders, it gives the opposition extra motivation when up against us, think the pros agree as well, FWIW.

I wasn't trying to say that for all other games they turn up with a fag on and a couple of pints under their belt from the night before, but it is a 'thing' deffo ????
