Miley Cyrus Reacts to Los Angeles Fires After Her Home Burnt Down in 2018 Wildfire

Miley Cyrus is speaking out about the devastating fires that are burning across Los Angeles and her experience losing a home in a 2018 blaze.

The 32-year-old musician took to social media on Saturday (January 11) to reveal some of the organizations that she is supporting in the moment. She urged others to donate and raise awareness about the tragedy.

On her Instagram story, Miley shared a photo of the wreckage from her home, which was destroyed more than five years ago.

“This image hits me hard in the heart today. This is a photo taken of my front porch in 2018 after losing our house in the Woolsey fires,” she wrote. “It’s a feeling you don’t ever forget. Walking up to the door you would pass through daily, looking forward to being greeted by the ones you love like you always do but instead being met by a pile of ash and rubble.”

She continued, writing, “My soul aches for those who are experiencing this devastation firsthand and I cry for my city. It’s beyond heartbreaking. Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream’ but the reality today is wreckage and destruction.”

“Time, resources and dedication from inside and outside of our community will heal us, but it hurts deeply for now,” Miley concluded.

Miley reflected on losing the “magic” home, which she shared with her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, in a 2023 interview.
