Boxing streaming and TV schedule for Jan. 17-18
The 20th MF Series show and a Hollywood Fight Nights event are your American TV boxing options this week
Friday, Jan. 17
UFC Fight Pass, 10:00 pm ET, Hollywood Fight Nights. Omar Trinidad vs Mike Plania is the main event. I wouldn’t hate it as a ProBox show, where Plania fought before against Angelo Leo. But, Fight Pass is almost $10 a month/$100 a year. Ali Akhmedov is one of the undercarders.
Saturday, Jan. 18
DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, X Series 20. Darren Till vs Anthony Taylor is your main event from Manchester. One of the undercard fights is being held at bridgerweight, if you didn’t already have enough reasons to hate this whole clown show. Tommy Fury was originally headlining, but now he’s not. I’m sure dozens of cabbage heads are screaming about the why and how on their social media platform of choice, but I have no idea and I refuse to learn. Instead, I researched a 1974 movie called Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, originally released under the name The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue. According to Wikipedia, it’s about a man and a woman “who are harassed by a local police investigator in the English countryside and are implicated in murders committed by zombies who have been brought to life by a farming tool designed to kill insects via ultra-sonic radiation.” If you absolutely must watch a horror show set in Manchester... Doesn’t that sound more fun?
