A statement from the Penguins says the team is working with local police and it’s own team security officials and that Malkin is requesting privacy. The investigation is said to be ongoing.
KDKA reports that Allegheny County Police were notified of a break-in in Sewickley Heights and a spokesperson says investigators are looking to speak to anyone who might have information about the incident.
The break-in is the latest among a string of burglaries targeting professional athletes around the country including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow, Luka Doncic, Tyler Seguin, and others.
