Bruce Willis Makes First Public Appearance Since Dementia Diagnosis
Bruce Willis hit the streets to thank first responders in Los Angeles recently amidst the ongoing fires plaguing the city.
Photos and videos shared on social media by the beloved actor's wife, Emma Heming Willis, are the first images of the star in public since his dementia diagnosis in 2022, according to People.
The Instagram post showed Willis rocking a New York Yankees baseball hat and a corduroy jacket, shaking hands with a LAPD officer while others looked on. The two posed for a photo together as well.
"Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a 'thank you for your service'. Yesterday was no different," the post was captioned.
Tallulah Willis, the actor's youngest daughter with Demi Moore, was overcome with emotion seeing her father.
"This makes my heart so freaking full," she commented on the post.
In 2023, the Willis family shared an update on his health stating he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a condition causing atrophy of the frontal and temporal brain lobes.
On their 17th anniversary, Emma Heming shared a social media post updating the public about how their relationship had changed with her husband's diagnosis.
"Anniversaries used to bring excitement—now, if I'm honest, they stir up all the feelings, leaving a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach," she wrote in the caption. "…unconditional love. I feel blessed to know it, and it's because of him. I'd do it all over again and again in a heartbeat."
