Mena Massoud Reveals He Had a 'Mentality Shift' After Not Getting Auditions Following 'Aladdin' Success
Mena Massoud had a shift in his mentality after starring in the live-action Aladdin adaptation.
The 33-year-old actor previously revealed that he hadn’t gotten any auditions and was still struggling to land any, despite the Disney movie making over a billion dollars.
At a screening of his new movie Wish You Were Here, Mena opened up about the “mentality shift” he went through in the way he looks at things.

“I think it’s a mentality shift more than anything,” he told People. “I think we can get stuck in looking at things in a negative way or a positive way.”
“At that time, I was younger. I filmed Aladdin in 2017, so it’s been almost eight years now,” Mena continued. “And, I think you mature as you go through this industry and you realize like, I mean, look, we’re pretty lucky to do what we’re doing. There’s ups and downs in everything, and I think as long as you keep that passion for what you’re doing, that’s the most important thing.”
