???? Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of the situation is
Summer: we bid multiple million despite Neumann having one year left, they put all their eggs in the "he'll sign a new deal" basket and tell us to get fecked. Neumann is angry with them and refuses to sign a new deal
January: we bid significantly less because he's now a free agent in 6 months, they originally indicate acceptance but then hike the price back up because ??? reasons. We tell them to get fecked, negotiate a pre contract with Neumann, then act entirely within European footballing rules by announcing it whenever the hell we like
Hannover now throw their toys out of the pram entirely
