AFD: No injuries reported in abandoned church fire

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- No injuries were reported after the Austin Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at an abandoned east Austin church, the agency said on social media.
AFD crews responded to the fire around noon Tuesday at 7501 Blessing Ave. and were in "defensive mode of operations," according to the agency.
AFD said the fire was "knocked down," and crews would remain on the scene to ensure the structure was extinguished.
A KXAN photojournalist went to the scene and said crews were wrapping up and packing up to leave after 1 p.m.
No other details were available Tuesday.
