Temu named fastest-growing website in Australia

Temu has been ranked the fastest-growing website in Australia after recording a 72 per cent increase in unique visitors last year.

The Chinese online marketplace took the top spot in Similarweb’s 2025 Digital 100 Australia report which measures the top 250 websites across various categories. Property.com.au and chatgpt.com were in second and third places, respectively.

Temu was also the most downloaded iPhone app in Australia last year, according to Apple. Globally, it holds the top spot in 25 markets across more than 30 countries and regions with official Apple rankings.

The company attributed the growing popularity to its direct-from-factory model, which offers competitive pricing by connecting shoppers directly with manufacturers.

The online marketplace was launched in 2022 and entered the Australian market in March 2023. Last year, it enabled qualified sellers to manage logistics and ship products directly from Australian warehouses, cutting delivery times and expanding product variety.

Globally, the company has expanded to more than 80 markets across Oceania, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
