Trump: ‘FEMA’s Turned Out to be a Disaster’

President Trump hasn’t been shy about expressing his deep disappointment in how FEMA is going about assisting people who’ve experienced loss from the hurricanes that ravaged North Carolina, and those who’ve lost everything in the devastating California wildfires.
He spoke of signing an executive order to overhaul it, or perhaps get rid of FEMA, and let each state handle its own disaster relief. His reasoning is that it takes time for FEMA to show up, they don’t typically know the area, they introduce rules that are unfamiliar, and the people FEMA uses to help facilitate disaster relief aren’t as good as the people the state already has.
“FEMA’s turned out to be a disaster,” he said at a briefing in Fletcher, North Carolina, according to WBNS.
