President Trump Fires 17 Inspectors General in Friday Night Purge
President Trump fired 17 Inspectors General in a Friday night purge to punctuate the end of his first week in office.
And what a week it was! President Trump is accused of accomplishing more good for the country in his first five days than Joe Biden and his handlers did in four years.
Real Clear Politics reporter Susan Crabtree explained that many of these IGs, who are in a position to identify and clean up waste and abuse, have long histories of whitewashing reports and playing politics.
President Trump kept current Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari Jr., who is conducting multiple investigations into the Secret Service failures that led to two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life.
Trump also kept IG Michael Horowitz, who has a record of whitewashing reports and excusing criminal acts by far-left officials.
TRUMP FIRES 17 INSPECTORS GENERALS in a late-night purge punctuating the end of his first five days in office. @RealDonaldTrump dismissed 17 federal agency watchdogs. According to Reuters, the IGs at agencies, including the departments of state, defense, and transportation, were notified by emails from the White House personnel director that they had been terminated immediately, the source said on condition of anonymity.
Trump has sidelined more than 150 national security and foreign policy officials in his first week in office. It’s a start.
Trump fired the officials after he left California.
