Dutch court orders government to reduce pollution or be fined millions
THE HAGUE, Netherlands: A Dutch court has mandated the government to meet its nitrogen emissions reduction goals by 2030, imposing a potential 10 million euros (US$10.4 million) fine if targets are not achieved.
The ruling, issued on January 22 by the District Court of The Hague, criticized the government for failing to provide a concrete plan to address the pollution crisis.
